Confession: All of the videos I post make me cringe in varying degrees. Not because they're bad, but because watching yourself talk, walk, move, or exist in video for social media as a grown adult is objectively a weird experience.

But you know what's even weirder?

Believing your audience is sitting there with a clipboard scoring your camera angles. You my small business friend don't need to be brilliant at video, you just need to stop treating content creation like you're auditioning for a Netflix documentary.

Your customers don't care if your office is aesthetic. They don't care if your transitions are smooth. And they certainly don't care if a hair on your head is out of place.

They care that you make them feel seen, heard and understood 👏

So if you've been waiting until your content looks a certain way before you start showing up... consider this your permission slip to lower the bar and hit record.

It's that posting isn’t *just* about posting.

It’s about being perceived. It’s wondering if you "doing it right". It’s worrying you’ll annoy people. It's thinking your competitors (and family) will watch and judge you. And it’s feeling like it has to be perfect before you hit publish.

So your brain goes: “Yeah nah, not today.” And while it feels like relief at the time, the next day you realise you're in the same predicament all over again 🤦‍♀️ And suddenly it all feels frustrating & heavy again.

What I see with small business owners time and time again is this...

When you’re already overloaded, your nervous system will choose safe over visible every time.
That’s why the “just post more” advice doesn’t work. Because the issue isn’t your content calendar, it’s your capacity + your confidence.

What changes things is support that makes it feel manageable:

➡️ A horror movie but... you ignored [insert a piece of advice you tell clients all the time]
➡️ A horror movie but... you assumed [insert common misconception in your niche or industry]

Look, I get it, marketing on Instagram can feel like an absolute drag at times. I feel it too sometimes.
